God is Good!

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)- Ephesians 2:4-5

One thing every believer needs to believe is that God is good in all situations—positive or not. I believe the mistake some of us make is that most times we look to things to see how good God is. But the goodness of God is seen primarily through the Cross. His goodness is seen in what He has done for us through the Cross in reconciling us to Himself. He proved His goodness on the Cross through Jesus.

Even when we were dead in trespasses and sins, He gave His life for us on the Cross so we can have eternal life. He showed His rich mercy, great love and goodness on the Cross. Oh, what a good God. He is so good! We were dead in trespasses and sins; we were under the control of the enemy; we were children of darkness (Ephesians 2:1-3).

But God in His goodness couldn't watch us remain in this state. He decided to take on flesh (John 1:14) in the Person of Jesus. He dwelt among us; lived as man; was rejected and crucified by His own creation. Despite all these, He was still not deterred. He was on a mission and He fulfilled it. Now we are saved, we have life and will spend eternity with Him. Have we thanked Him enough for this?

Maybe it would interest you to note that angels rebelled against God and He did nothing about it (2 Peter 2:4). But man who also rebelled against God was shown mercy instead. Oh, my friend, do you still have doubts about how good God is to us? God's decision to atone for the sins of man is simply a gift of Grace. We could never have earned or deserved it. But God chose to be good to man. God chose to be good to you and I.

This should inspire thanksgiving in our hearts and lips. We would never have a reason to complain in life when we have at the center of our hearts always what Christ has done for us in reconciling us to God.

As believers, we are to be Christ-centered not need-centered because He has met our greatest need—our spiritual need which influences where we spend eternity. Oh, this should inspire thanksgiving in our hearts and lead us to see the goodness of God. Friend, God has been good to you and I. He has really been good. God is not just good, that's His nature; that's Who He is. God is good! Believe it and acknowledge it always.

SAY THIS: Thank You Lord for Your goodness. You are good. You have been so good to me. Thank You Lord. Amen.

You are blessed. God loves you. Yes you!!!
