Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,- Ephesians 1:5
This is amazing! It was the good pleasure of God for us to become His children. He actually wanted us. It wasn't something that just happened, it was predestined that through Jesus Christ we would become God's children.
Before the foundation of the world, God concluded that in Christ, He would have a family. And that anyone who believes in Jesus would be part of this family. This is the Father's heart of love. That through Jesus Christ, we have been made worthy to be called children of God. John 3:16 which is one of the most popular texts among believers says:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Notice this verse says that God loved the world and to prove His love, He gave His Son—Jesus to be propitiation for our sins and that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.
Question, can you have a son without first being a father? So in this text, God was showing us His Father's heart. He was showing us that He is Father to us and that believing in Jesus would make us His children. And He wants us to be conscious of this relationship we now have with Him.
He wants us to relate with Him as Father. He wants us to know and believe that He is always with us ready to answer us when we call. He wants us to know and believe that His arms are always wide open to receive us. He wants us to know and believe that He loves us so much and cares about us always. He desires a Father-child relationship with us.
One text that reawakens how much He cares about us is 1 Peter 5:7. Let's look at the amplified version:
Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
Why can we cast all our cares on Him once and for all? Because He is our Father. In the natural, every responsible father would meet the needs of his children as he is able. How much more God! Friend, remember always that you are God's child and He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
SAY THIS: Father, I thank You for Your Love. Thank You for choosing me to be Your child. I don't only know that You love me, I believe it. I cast all of my cares upon You once and for all because I know You care for me affectionately and care about me watchfully. Amen.
You are blessed. God loves you. Yes you!!!
