You Are God's Own

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory- Ephesians 1:13-14

The moment you believe in Jesus, you become God's own. You are immediately translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God. It is a miracle that we should always be thankful for. One minute you were in darkness, and the next minute you were changed to light by simply believing in Jesus. Hallelujah! Colossians 1:13-14 says:

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

The greek word translated "hath translated" in this text is "methistemi" which means to transfer or exchange. So we were literally transferred from darkness, exchanged to the kingdom of God through Jesus. It is important that we always have at the center of our hearts the sacrifice of Jesus which caused us to be delivered from the power of darkness. In verse 14 of the text we just read, it says, in Whom, talking about Jesus, we have redemption through His blood. Hallelujah!

Friend, there could never have been redemption until blood was shed. And Jesus, in His great love did that for us once and for all and now we have forgiveness of sins. To understand the extent of this, it would interest you to know that in the Old Testament or Old Covenant, the high priests had to offer a yearly sacrifice to cover sins. It was a yearly duty which was not still enough. But Jesus, our Great High Priest, offered Himself once and for all for the remission of our sins. There is no more need for a yearly sacrifice, Jesus Christ's sacrifice is enough for eternity.

And now because the sin nature has been taken away, we are God's own. Hallelujah! We are God's purchased possession. We have been bought with a price. This is something to cherish. This is something to be thankful for always. This is what the Gospel is. That God fulfilled His plan to accept the sacrifice of His Son—Jesus Christ as propitiation for the sins of the world and has ever since bestowed righteousness on anyone who believes.

It was God's plan before the foundation of the world that our right standing before Him which speaks of righteousness would be based on the sacrifice of Jesus. Friend, Somebody actually died for you so that you can have life; so that you can be called His own. It's an overwhelming price to pay. Oh, what great love; what great kindness; what great mercy. Thank You Jesus. And now we can say we are God's own. Hallelujah! Thank You Jesus. You are awesome Lord. Words fail us to describe the awe of Your love. All we can say is Thank You. Thank You. Thank You Lord.

SAY THIS: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your sacrifice on the Cross. Thank You because Your sacrifice has made me God's own. I'm God's own because of You. Amen

You are blessed. God loves you. Yes you!!!
