You Are God's Own (2)

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory- Ephesians 1:13-14

In the first part of this title, I shared that we have been bought with a price which involved Jesus sacrificing His life for us so that we can have life; so that we can be His own. But why did He have to die to give us life? Couldn't He just have given us this life? Well, know that God is both merciful and just. And in His justice, He is still so merciful. 

Man sinned and should have been punished for his sins. But God, who is rich in mercy and for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sin, quickened us together with Christ. On the Cross, Jesus took the punishment that was meant for man. And today, anyone who believes in Him would not have to suffer eternal punishment; he would instead enjoy eternal life with Him. And the condition still remains the same—only believe!

Friend, if you don't yet believe in Jesus, know that He loves you and has sacrificed His life so that you can be His own. He wants you as part of His family. He wants you to spend eternity with Him because He loves you and He only asks that you believe in Him; believe in His sacrifice which is through the Cross which was the purchasing price. He shed His blood for you so that your sins will not be counted against you. 

Oh, scarcely would one die for a righteous man, but Jesus died for us when we were dead in sin. And He didn't stop there, He rose up in glory and is now seated in a place of rest at the right hand of God having secured eternal life for any one who believes in Him. All you need to do is simply believe in Him today and you will become His own—His beloved child and would have the assurance of spending eternity on the good side with God instead of the devil. Let go of 'religion' and accept this relationship God is calling you to. 

If you already believe, today is a good day to give our Lord Jesus thanks for all He has done for us in reconciling us to God; in making us God's possession; God's own. Oh, how blessed we are to be called sons and daughters of God. To be called the beloved of God. Also, there are friends of yours who are yet to believe in Jesus, today is a good day to tell them about Him knowing that you are securing their eternity in the process. Play your part in seeing many others added to God's big family.  

SAY THIS: Lord Jesus, I appreciate You; I honor You; I glorify You for Your sacrifice which has reconciled me to God and given me the assurance that I will spend eternity with You. Thank You for Your Love. I therefore go forth to tell anyone yet to believe how much You love them and desire that they are part of Your big family and in the process securing their eternity. Amen
